Above everything be gentle with yourself. Gentle! Our God is always gentle with us. Sometimes in life we need to build muscles...and in order to evolve and grow and go deeper, God, through Life Experiences, tries to help us build those muscles. Whenever we are confronted with troubles.. hard times or difficulties , it is always an opportunity to ask God what is my lesson here? What is it that you want me to learn? It takes time, life experience, deep prayer ..to no how to walk in this new way of approaching life. Sadly, often we were taught to fear, have anxiety and force the answer before the proper time. But instead, as these things come forward in our lives, we learn how to stop.. to sit with God in deep prayer and await His Reply, what the lesson to learn is and how to go forward to resolve whatever is in front of us. Too often we force the answer rather than wait for God's Way of resolving the issue or accepting it. ...or trying to live with it on going. Be gentle. Our God knows what's best for us. And we cannot base our trust in God with our difficulty trusting human beings. Too often in our lives so many have hurt us that trusting often is an issue that is not resolved in our lives. But we must never compare God 2 man. God's Unconditional Love, His Kindness, His Fairness, His Gentleness, His wanting the best for us can never be equaled. This is the Sabbath. Our Jewish brethren experience the Sabbath as a 'day in heaven'. It is a day of rest.. a day of loving others and above all a day of worshipping our God. Let's be bold, and different and ask God this day that beyond our going to church and giving God a little of what He is worthy and deserving of ... Let us ask Him how He wants us to celebrate the Sabbath... to make it stand out from the other days. ...rather than working, doing chores, shopping , cleaning an fixing. Let's move into having a day of loving others, caring for ourselves ,spending time.. quality time with other people.. of reaching for those less fortunate than us ...those alone.. those older ...those sick. May we always look to those in our family line first who desperately need the Love of God and our help ,and then reach outside to the greater of humanity. A fruitful Lent to all of us.. till next time let's read again the readings from Mass today deliberately focusing on its meaning... reading it slowly ,taking in what God wants to tell us through those readings. Have a blessed Sabbath!!
