Earlier this week 2 men were found dead in the Hudson River. One of them i knew. While watching the news the reporter interviewed two young 'preppy' people from Hoboken near where the bodies were found, they asked them to speak....and they said things like...'we thought this was a good neighborhood....or we never had anything like this happen before.'.....i became so grieved and angry at these type of comments because 2 lives were gone way too soon in a tragic way. No matter how they passed away or why, this was the saddest thing in the world and yet human beings who appear all together, young, beautiful, have young children, affluent have nothing better to say regarding the situation ...and nothing to do with the human life that has value beyond compare. These were our brothers, our uncles, our spouses, our friends....they are ours and sadly they did not get to finish their important work on this earth and suffered a very sad death.
i desperately wished i could find a reporter and speak this Truth. Few thought of their souls....i took the time, by inspiration from God Alone, to go down to where they were recovered and knelt in prayer saying a Divine Mercy Chaplet which we Catholics say often when someone is dying or has died...i did one for each ignoring the looks and attitudes of those passing by...ignoring the thoughts of many in my life who would label this showing off or too religious or weird...i was kneeling to plead with God in respect and grief for these two beautiful men....With opinions like the ones on the news...and the lack of Love in our world...with the tragedy of how they passed....i felt their souls could be grieving and wanted to help bring the Breathe of God to lift the wings of their souls and help send them Home to Heaven to be with Their Maker. i cried as if they were my sons...i have been grieving for days praying, crying and thinking of them and their families who will have to live with this the rest of their lives. Oh the pain....and yet our world worries about a good neighborhood....soooo sad....This is the condition of our world...we are so selfish and self absorbed that we don't even see the person standing right in front of us....
Let's start to ask people we meet sincerely how they are...listen with Love...giving hope and kindness to all we meet....let's start looking at life differently...starting with a seed of a flower...to a bug...to a whale...to a lion...to a child in the womb...to all human life....to elderly and disabled....ALL LIFE IS VALUABLE SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WERE MADE BY THE LIVING GOD!!!!
May God have mercy on our indifference...our arrogance...our pride...May He fill us with His Unconditional Love so we may pour It out on a world that is starving for Him!!! STARVING!
'ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO THEM O LORD AND MAY PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM. MAY THEY REST IN PEACE. MAY THEIR SOULS AND ALL THE SOULS OF THE FAITHFULLY DEPARTED THROUGH THE DIVINE MERCY OF GOD, REST IN PEACE. AMEN'
Praised be Jesus Christ now and forever! til next time....Read 2 Maccabees 12:38-46...This book is not in every Bible, ...it was removed in the 1500s by Luther and those from the reformation. Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and the Church of the East all have Maccabees in their Bibles... because their Bibles were compiled long before the 1500s and they consider them inspired by God Himself!
Expiation for the Dead.
38Judas rallied his army and went to the city of Adullam. As the seventh day was approaching, they purified themselves according to custom and kept the sabbath there.39On the following day, since the task had now become urgent, Judas and his companions went to gather up the bodies of the fallen and bury them with their kindred in their ancestral tombs.40But under the tunic of each of the dead they found amulets sacred to the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbids the Jews to wear. So it was clear to all that this was why these men had fallen.41They all therefore praised the ways of the Lord, the just judge who brings to light the things that are hidden.42Turning to supplication, they prayed that the sinful deed might be fully blotted out. The noble Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened because of the sin of those who had fallen.43He then took up a collection among all his soldiers, amounting to two thousand silver drachmas, which he sent to Jerusalem to provide for an expiatory sacrifice. In doing this he acted in a very excellent and noble way, inasmuch as he had the resurrection in mind;44for if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead.45But if he did this with a view to the splendid reward that awaits those who had gone to rest in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought.46Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be absolved from their sin.
